I had to cancel out on breakfast tomorrow with Gov. Richardson. I have to cover for somebody at work tomorrow. But today I was filmed as an extra for the film "Lovely Still". I'm at the end of the third scene shot this morning. My spot while waiting to film was literally next to both Mr. Landau and Ms. Bursytn. I couldn't resist. I started a conversation with both of them. No attitude or shine him on look. I brought up "Same Time, Next Year" and "Mission: Impossible". Great people with their fans. It is being shot in Omaha, so there was no picket line. I think you all know if there had a been a line, I would have stood in the picket line instead. Music for the film will be by recording star Conor Oberst and his band Bright Eyes.

Want to be an extra? Go to Durham Monday
You don't need acting credentials to be in this movie. You just need to wear cold-weather clothing.
The casting director from Overture Films will be at the main entrance of the Durham Western Heritage Museum, 801 S. 10th St., at 8 a.m. Monday to select extras for the filming of "Lovely Still."
The film is about a frail man who doesn't know love or happiness until the Christmas of his 78th year. The extras are needed for scenes that will be filmed Monday at the museum. Participants must sign a release to participate.
Nick Fackler, an Omaha native, is the film's writer and director. Academy Award winners Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn appear in the film.
