Is Al Gore still supported on this site?
I'm just wondering since many of those who did nothing but post about him when they were begging him to run are silent now. Is his work on this crisis really important here? He is keynoting in Bali in less than two weeks on a crisis that defines this and the next generation. No small potatoes in my view. And he is doing so because this crisis and working to solve it is important whether he runs or not. And it was because of his work in Australia that contributed to the results we saw there this past weekend, which to me only vindicates his own words regarding having power out here regarding influencing events. Not to be antagonistic, but I do think it a shame some people still don't seem to give a damn about all he has done and does unless he "runs." Keynoting in Bali as a Nobel Peace Prize winner, statesman, and ambassador for the planet on this crisis is nothing to sneeze at. I for one am very hopeful we will get more from Bali than just talk and that is mostly because I know Mr. Gore will be an integral part of the process. And even though I may be leaning towards who I will cast a "vote" for in a primary that does nothing to diminish my respect and love for this great man whose work was, is, and always will be an influence in where our future takes us. So if you don't have to see him in that political cesspool to support him and truly understand the important role he will now play in this process and in the future of this planet, a shout out would be nice. This journey is not over, and I for one am grateful he is still leading the way.

3. There is a ton of support for Gore on this site
But right now, many DUers are concentrating on the 2008 presidential race, which Gore has declined to join.

13. Well, to me it doesn't mean he won't influence where it goes

My point in posting this was actually to see how many would respond that they support his work now to get the climate crisis into the consciousness of other candidates, especailly in regards to the debate he and Schwarzeneggar are planning in NH next month. I would hope that just because he has not declared he is running that this most important crisis we are facing is not acknowledged as part of that concentration on 2008.

7. sure i support him and am still interested in what he is doing...
i just returned from London and i read in the paper there the brits are pissed..he is going to be a guest speaker at a Global Warming conference..and being paid $300,000...it didn't say dollars or Pounds..but i assume pounds since it was in the british paper..but what the brits are pissed about is..now a global warming scientist they wanted to come can't or won't because all the money they had is going to Gore, and Gore alone.

8. Some people just can't post
pertinent information without taking the opportunity to belittle others in the process.

"Not to be antagonistic..." my ass. Some might think that's the only reason for the post.

10. Oh, please
"not to be antagonistic . . ." Yeah, right.

He isn't running. I wish he were, and I would still vote for him, but he isn't running.

Do you expect dozens of posts about him every day or something? If he ran, I have no doubt there would be. But right now everyone is focused on the election.

16. Of course he is...
I support him in all he does, as I have for many years. Additionally, he continues to be my preferred candidate and will be until I walk into the voting booth and find I must vote for someone else as the Democratic nominee.

What you continue to fail to understand is that this is primarily a political website and discussion board - not, as you seem to wish, an environmental/energy only discussion board. You've been here for what, about a year and a half now, and you haven't figured it out yet?

"Not to be antagonistic"...??? The only times I've ever seen you avoid being antagonistic is when you encounter members who slavishly agree with you. Everyone else gets treated in the rudest, most antagonistic manner possible.

As you sow, so shall you reap.
