The fear that conservative America faces...
That fear is that they may actually have to think about their own sexuality honestly. They might actually have to admit that they might be be gay or that being gay is actually ok.

With all the conservatives caught up in same sex sex scandals this fear is building up to critical mass...where suddenly the whole bus will tumble over the cliff.

Splat.

In the wreckage, a new awakening and a new attitude will emerge. It will be good for them and all of us.

So much of that fear has driven the deepest seeds of behavior as layers and layers of self loathing and hatred built up and created a false self-image. This self image created two people. The one that the public seeks and the other that sneaks around satisfying the deep desires of the true self.

So painful, so deceitful, dis-honest and unhealthy.

I hope Trent Lott is exposed. Because that is always the better result. The bad outcomes are much more painful and can lead to self-destruction and hurt inflicted upon others.

So to the sneaky back room, bathroom sex addict conservatives...give it up. Admit who you are and let yourself be truthful. Live. Love and enjoy REAL life for a change. Stop hating yourself and others to maintain a lie.

1. According to at least half a dozen threads today

you must be a straight homophobe because you want to accuse someone you hate of being gay as an insult. I get a sneaking feeling that's not true.

Personally I don't give a hoot if he's gay or not, but if he is I will relish the obvious dismay and demoralization that will cause in his party, and his own shame at his hypocrisy.

Not too many people on DU make fun of Barney Frank being gay. I'd think the difference is obvious - that he does not hide it and bash other gays, unlike Haggard and Craig, etc. If Lott turns out to be another one - and I don't know enough about the case to guess yea or nay - then to me it's both fair game and fair use to criticize him for hiding it and bashing others who are too.
