Despite Kucinich's off-the-cuff remark about considering Ron Paul as a VP running mate, which is so unlikely as to be laughable, think of how well the political process in America would be served by a Kucinich vs Paul campaign in 2008. Substantive issues might actually be debated rather than sound-bites traded! Kucinich and Paul are the only two Democratic and Republican contenders with passionate alternative visions for America's future-- alternative in the sense of being alternatives to the corporate-imperialist Washington mainstream. Debating those visions would expose an awful lot of the underbelly of U.S. foreign and domestic policy to wider scrutiny. It might wake a lot of people up.

Unlike a post earlier in GD when someone from the north pole was openly advocating or campaigning for Ron Paul ..... this discussion of a Kucinich v.s. Paul presidential race here on the DU would be healthy. We all know people who are backing Paul ... based only on his stance against the War. If the discussion was opened up further to include ALL the relevant issues facing our Country, World etc... well as you say ....... "It might just wake a lot of people up" .... including my Nephew .... who is a one issue (the war) voter. To enlighten people, educated them on universal health care, social security, education, on and on ..... would IMHO confidently bring undecided folks to the DEMOCRATIC side of the Isle. Peace.
