Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 09:39 PM by Mike03
Why don't you understand why the Dem candidates say what they say, even though they (you DUers) are not so stupid that you don't understand why repuke candidates or officers do and say the things that they say in order to animate votes in their direction.

We are obviously just monkeys. Look at DU, and you need no further evidence that we just don't think.

For god's sake, use the brain you were born with to figure this out. How can you be so damndably stupid after eight years of this???

2. I know. I don't want that either, but it won't happen.
We have to trust our guts, which is different than listening to what they are saying.

7. It can easily happen
when we 'fear' the swing voters and our elected officials, even when in power, do the wrong thing to simply stay in power.

11. No. No.
Why do you say it can happen?

It can't possibly get worse than this. It can't.

15. It can get worse
If we get a dem in (which we will BTW) and we defend them based on party loyalty no matter what they do out of fear of losing the senate/house.

When we start making excuses for our own, which we will, we will lose. Look back at Clinton - gays in the military, et al - during that time dems defended him to the hilt when he went against progressive ideals.

When we don't call our own to the carpet, we will lose. And we won't bash them because a little is better than nothing. So we compromise time after time, and all the while people like our gay friends (as but one example) lose.

of a Democrat.

If that happens, I'll put a gun in my mouth.

Chimpy obviously far exceeded my expectations. :evilfrown:

Rather than assume nobody could be worse than him (which admittedly, is hard to imagine) I'd rather elect someone who I am SURE will not be.

3. That is a nice fascistic statement, how about trying "If you aren't with us,
...then you are against us!" As a democrat I have every right to question and challenge any candidate that will represent the democratic voters of this country.

25. Civil Discourse for you:
Thank you in advance for your very convincing argument. Pay no attention to my accusations that most of the assertions against centrist democrats are ludicrous.

Take care, and be well!

29. You do realize this is the primary election, right?
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 10:07 PM by AtomicKitten
Are you suggesting we organize a treasure hunt to just pass the time, and then just pull a name out of a hat to see who'll be the nominee?

This is the first open election in years and it is incumbent upon us to do the hard work of vetting our best nominee. Sometimes that isn't pretty, but do you think for a nanosecond that there isn't some GOP troll plotting assault tactics against any one of our nominees already regardless?

I don't know about you but I'm good with not acknowledging the GOP and their evil poo-flinging monkey presence other than to point and laugh. Eff them. I will not look over my shoulder at those a-holes. We aren't going to win on defense.

I hope this response is more edifying. Just my opinion.

about a fellow Republican. It's one thing for us to criticize each other but our candidates should learn to control their mouth.

I doubt it. Sen. Clinton will run and be trashed thoroughly by the right wing. That will leave the criminal sex pervert, Rodolfa Giuliani as president.

Second, to suggest that Democrats should bury criticisms because you want unity is not
clear thinking and certainly isn't wise nor democratic ---

If Democrats truly understood how deeply they were being betrayed, they'd have blasted the DLC
out of the Democatic Party 8 years or more ago ---

And, we'd have better candidates now ---
