Is anyone following the Drew Peterson case??

Sorry if there have been other threads about this ~ I'm not in this forum much.

What an amazing tale it has become!

1. I admit, I've heard Dan Abrams talk about it a few times.
I try not to get caught up in the Missing-Woman-Du-Jour stories, but it's hard not to when you have a husband doing his best to get on TV every single day, it seems, talking about how she probably left him for another man, how he got a letter saying she'd been seen with another man and looking pregnant, and talking about how it just doesn't mean a thing that the wife just before her drowned in the bathtub, nor that this one had said something about not believing that wife's death was an accident juuust before she herself "disappeared."

The story has all the earmarks of the story of a hubris-filled violent sociopath who thinks he can get rid of a woman whenever she "displeases" him...and what's more, that no one will ever, EVER figure out that he did so. Especially because this guy seems to be basking in all the attention he's getting from the situation, and to have no clue as to when to keep his mouth shut.

You don't want to jump to conclusions, but he practically begs you to every day.

2. Yeah, this one is the classic psychopath...
I'll bet he's already trying to sell the story!

Now his half-brother says he tried to commit suicide because he got tricked into helping Drew get rid of the body ~ and supposedly Stacy recently told a minister that Drew confessed to killing the third wife!!

3. His arrogance has finally done him in. Sounds like he's going to be charged for murder of wife#3.
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 11:06 PM by in_cog_ni_to
He's a real scumbag and if Stacey is dead, I blame the Bolingbrook police dept. for not investigating the death of wife #3. Just because he's a cop, he got away with MURDER...or so it seems. Now, because of who he is, another woman is dead, maybe.

4. I have to admit... I have not paid attention and I have no idea
what has recently happened. So its late - I am in a mood - and my "ignore stories like this" mode isn't on full strength - can you point me in the direction of what is going on? (per the reference of another dead woman, and "wife number three"... Thanks.

5. I usually ignore these stories too, but Bolingbrook, Illinois is close to me, soooo....

His B-I-L admitted to helping him carry a big blue container out the garage the day Stacey went missing. Now the cops are looking for the big blue container. Stacey, supposedly, confessed to a Priest that her husband admitted to her that he did kill wife #3 and made it look like an accident. The police exhumed her body (wife #3's body) and have now ruled her death was NOT an accident. The police had been called to the house 18 times!!!!! during that marriage and the bastard was never charged with anything...because he's a cop.

Stacey told her sister that she feared her husband was going to kill her and make it look like an accident like he did with wife #3.

Also, the reason the cops found out about the big blue container being carried out of the Peterson house on the day Stacey went missing, was because a NEIGHBOR witnessed it.....and called them. That lead them to the B-I-L. I guess the B-I-L attempted suicide a day or 2 AFTER he helped carry the big blue tub out of the house.

Peterson is a scumbag. He use to stalk a lady he dated...they were engaged at the time and he was very controlling of her. One night he threw her over a coffee table and pinned her down in some kind of police hold. She broke up with him after that, but for YEARS he stalked her and harassed her. He'd pull her over in her car for bogus reasons and ticket her for revenge.

That's pretty much all I know.:)

Thanks for the recap. Certainly easier than reading through big stories. Sounds potentially horrific.

18. They really have enough to arrest him for #3 it seems...
Though, maybe they're waiting for that official autopsy.

You're right about the police dept., and I wonder how many heads should roll ~ and also if some of those guys are worried that Drew will expose them.

14. I'll bet he's arrested soon...
If not for wife #4, then for wife #3 ~ there's a body in that case, and a body of evidence.

7. Summary so far :
If you are dating a man who carries a gun in his line of work, especially law enforcement..and his previous wife (#3) died suddenly and under "odd" circumstances......CHANGE YOUR FREAKING PHONE NUMBER AND MOVE AWAY..

I am NOT "blaming the victim" or letting him off the hook..just stating a fact..

there are weirdo-freaks "out there"..and probably MOST of them give off "vibes"..Women MUST stop selling themselves short and "falling" for fast-talking, con-men....

15. Wouldn't it be great if the two women who got away...
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 08:03 AM by polichick
...wrote a book together to warn other women about this kind of guy ~ psychopaths are often so charismatic they fool everyone around them.

(I mean wife #2 and the one who almost married him ~ wife #1 seems to want nothing to do with it; maybe because she has children by him.)

8. "Eighteen times in two years, Bolingbrook police were called to fellow officer Drew Peterson’s home
because of trouble between husband and wife. But Peterson’s wife could never get authorities to arrest him. In fact, she was the only one ever charged."

Same name, same story if you ask me. With the same grisly ending X2, 3?

19. Since the little girl was born years after Laci Peterson's death...
I wonder if that name was some kind of a joke to Drew ~ and also why his wife would go along with the name, and who is looking after those kids now. I hope police aren't trusting Drew to do right by them.

but won't have to tell because it is a religious secret. religion above the law.
