beautiful heavy rain gives Southern California much needed soaking...
and we are loving it. not too many problems in fire areas so far, and even if there was, the entire ecosystem is loving it.

our little straight sided coffee can has nearly 2 inches of water in it. hooray!

3. My dear msongs!
It has been grand!

Out here by LAX, it does seem to have stopped, at least for now...

But we sure did enjoy it while we had it...

I hope this winter will be wet, and that our mountains will receive abundant, wet, heavy snow!

:hi:

7. Oh you are so lucky. I want rain!
Will you give it a little push northward as it comes through, we need it in the San Joaquin Valley.

Thanks

9. I'm glad to hear it.
Now, that very same rain is going to give us some problems up here in Oregon.

Headline from today's Oregonian:

"Monster Hurricane taking dead aim at Oregon". Apparently, we're going to have a double whammy of heavy snow + a HURRICANE (?) tomorrow? On the size of one Katrina (?)
We don't get hurricanes here very often.

Sheesh. Nice to be in CA, though.

12. Very glad to hear it
You all have been through so much, you need some relief.

Same for folks in the SE, hope you all see an end to the drought soon.

13. It's been raining on and off here since early this AM and YESS!!!!
it is a wonderful thing to behold. Unfortunately people in the burn areas that are so recent the grass seed hasn't germinated yet are having to evacuate due to the risk of "mudslides". The debris flows can be huge and deadly when this happens.

But the rain is much needed.

They say it might freeze tonight and I think that's almost unheard of for this time of year. I have been here 25 years and only ever seen freezes in Jan and Feb (and those are rare).

It was raining when I woke up this morning, and has been raining a gentle rain most of the day. What we most need.

16. So glad to hear it !!!! Please send the storm north when it's done :)

We're dying for rain here. We've had only a couple of days of showers. It's not looking good again for CA. :-(
