I feel bad for the people in Iowa! I'm so tired of conflicting polls
and predictions that make no sense! Those poor folks have to put up with being inundated with this junk for a whole YEAR!!!! I know they're all supposed to love politics, but damn!

2. I have a feeling they have too much horse sense to pay attention to those "polls".
They do their choosing by listening & deciphering the information on their own.

3. My brother lives in Iowa
When he came down to visit before Christmas, he said he was fed up. He said you can't throw a rock without hitting a politician.

4. It isn't bad unless the candidates lie, but you learn early on who they are.
That's the nice thing...you can look them in the eye and pick up on the inflections of their voices. Also, you get to hear the entire speech and see the way they not only handle those who came to listen, but how they treat their handlers and volunteers. Sometimes, they are not aware people are listening when they are loading up for the next trip, but it is very telling.

It is a fascinating process, for sure. However, they are starting earlier and earlier, which puts one in burnout real quick like. Due to the cost, we don't see as many ads as we do during the general election. It is a shock when they finally stop on Jan. 4th, though.

7. Have you seen any candidates treating staff or family badly?
I remember watching GWB yell at his dog in the wee hours of the morning on election night 2000 when he thought he was losing. That was the first inkling I had of what an awful person he is.

How people treat their staff is important to me. Please tell us what you have seen.

5. Don't feel sorry--this meaningless, bullshit exercise is worth a FORTUNE to them!
It fills their coffers with BILLIONS; cash which would otherwise have to be collected by the tax man.

IA and NH have "The Election Racket" down. The hotels, diners, restaurants, car hire services, storefront rentals, etc., etc. are all THRILLED by this pointless nonsense!!!

No tears for IA voters; they'd be crying harder when the real estate tax bill came in, otherwise...

6. Boo Hoo! They can always give up their "first in the Nation" spot.
I would love to have my Pennsylvania vote counted as much as theirs.
