As an undecided voter, the sniping and backbiting
going on between the various camps is a real turn-off. But I think like the Obama supporters least of all. At one point I was leaning pretty strongly toward Obama. Now, not so much. Considering his pledge to bring us together, it's surprising that his most vocal advocates seem to be so effective at creating divisiveness around here. It makes me wonder what an Obama administration would relly look like.

4. Obama's supporters are young and idealistic.
Ya gotta love them for that.

I just wish they understood how hard things are for a lot of us in America. I feel like Obama and his supporters aren't aware of the most pressing issues we face: things like poverty, health care reform, and workers' rights don't seem to cross their minds. Ever.

Ending the Iraq occupation is important. Preventing global warming is important. A foreign policy based on diplomacy rather than aggression is important.

And ALL of our candidates will work towards these goals.

Poverty, health care, and workers' rights are ALSO important. I want a candidate who will work to improve these things.

But I guess I'm just a paleo-liberal.

6. Look .....
... this is a POLITICAL message board, not the town hall. People express their opinions and their opinions are not always pretty.

Emotions run high. It is absurd to judge a candidate by the things his/her supporters do or do not do.

Believe me, I consider the supporters of one particular candidate the most delusional set of lackeys I've ever seen. But that has nothing to do with why I don't support that candidate :)

7. Gee, that's weird, since Obama is bashed more than anyone here
It was Hillary bashing time for quite a while; then when Obama started gaining momentum, it was screaming meamie headlines morning and night here.

With probably one or two exceptions (there are probably always a few crackpots), the Obama people here seem to be fairly rational and intelligent.

The ones who piss me off are the Edwards supporters. So go figure.

Something tells me you weren't going to support Obama anyway. And that's fine. Go support someone else.

9. I'll support whoever I think will do the best job for the country.
HRC and John Edwards have been out there for a while. I have a pretty good feel for what they intend. I'm still not sure what to expect from an Obama presidency. I read DU to help me form an opinion. I take it all with a large grain of salt, but it all figures in the process. If you're an Obama supporter, telling me to fuck off is probably bad politics. If you're a Clintonista, it's pure Karl Rove.
