Thank you Iowa.
Iowans turned out in record number tonight. And by a margin of 2:1, they went and caucused for democratic candidates.

Even if you're disappointed that your candidate didn't win, tonight was a big victory for democrats.

We will continue coming out in huge numbers during the primaries.

And in November we will sweep the democratic nominee into the White House and we will increase our majorities in Congress.

Thank you Iowans.

1. cali, I can't tell you how exciting it was to see so many people show
up. We live in a very rural county and our precinct contains some of the least populated villages in the area. We had the highest attendance in living memory, in an area where someone recalls one Dem caucus some years back only having 7 or 8 people show up at it. Yes, Iowa truly made history last night. I'm waiting for other states to join in this revolution.

3. Skidmore, last night brought tears to my eyes
I don't have TV so I went to a friends and we all watched with pride the C-Span coverage of a caucus in Des Moines. It was so impressive. Can't wait to hear more about your caucus.

2. i can't wait to see the numbers in New Hampshire especially with McCain
if our candidates do as well or even close to as well as they did in Iowa in NH against someone like McCain who is more popular among independents it will be VERY good for us.

5. You can't say it was a victory for Democrats because
Iowa is a state where republicans can cross over. And they are the ones who put Obama up. When we get a state where republicans can't foul up our vote then we can see where the real Democrats are coming out to vote. And until we get a clear picture of Democrats taking the forefront we don't know if they will beat back the republicans. Iowa is a red state. So even tho the Democrats are supposed to have turned out, republicans own Iowa.

Remember what the republicans did in CT in helping Liberman, the traitor, win. I think in the primaries only Dems should vote for Dems and Reps. for Reps.

6. Yes, we certainly wouldn't want a candidate that people *want* to vote for.
That would be terrible.

7. Sorry, bitterwittums. Democrats turned out in a major way.
And just beause you're ignorant or trying to undermine Barack, don't expect others to fall for your bitter brew. And there are more registered dems in Iowa than repukes. It's not some deep red state. It has a dem governor. There are dem reps. It's decidedly a purple state. And face the truth, bitterone, there are increasing numbers of indies out there.
