Time to discuss kitchen table issues
employment numbers are down...

Housing sales numbers are down

The Christmas season wasn't that good

There are inflationary pressures

And of course the stock market is down

So when do they declare this a Recession?

Many of us know that this is the case... but when will it finally be official?

Oh and when will our fearless candidates speak of this? (We know the ones who do are mostly second tier...)

1. I don't know.. I think they've been trying to hold off on declaring recession
until Bushie's out.. but I don't think it can hold off for another year... it is what it is.

2. I know they are doing all they can to hold off the damn
but OUR people should be speaking of this loudly (and I know the ones who do, don't get airtime)

4. Amazingly enough you are talking of the American people
who do not know the difference between Narnia and Kandahar, nor do they care

Now putting food on table... they get it and understand it

Oh and believe you me, it is tied

6. Gas prices are way up
Edited on Fri Jan-04-08 04:16 PM by SpiralHawk
Since BushCo and the republicon oil cronies stole the pResidency, gas prices have steadily, greedily gone upward, enriching only fatcat republicon oil men and their Saudi intimates, despite the ugly truth that virtually all the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis, and not one from Iraq, Afghanistan, or Iran...

8. You know Iraq was about controlling the price and the output... that's
why they hate Chavez... Sadaam would decide one day to price really low.. then he'd be threatened, and place the barrel higher under Opec's demands... It wasn't until they could control Iraq, that they could control the monopoly.

7. Commonly, it needs to meet the benchmark of two successive quarters of loss on the
Gross Domestic Product before they call it a recession.

People feel the impact long before then, however.

9. With Bushie number fudging you'll never have real numbers...
and oil prices are inflating the numbers.

11. It is being spoken of, sorta.

Edwards has been hammering on working class issues, and is marginalized with adroit finesse. Don't know if he means it, but I'm glad he's saying it. Huckabee is also addressing the issue, but that aspect of his candidacy is ignored by the MSM and liberals, who only see religion. Whatever else he is, he ain't no sweetheart of Wall Street.

It's a neat trick, see, we got free speech, but, but...

Talk of class is verboten, it is irrelevant, archaic...it is what The Man fears most.

And be assured, when it becomes totally unavoidable they will do their best to channel it into subtle(and not so subtle) racism or whatever else might work.
