I bet many Obama supporters don't even know that.

5. It's interesting...
Most Americans have very short memories.

One could say, however, that Obama is the only African American male senator from Illinois to run for president.

3. He's the first one to be taken seriously tho. Obama supporters (I'm not one) know that much.
I hope Edwards wins. Obama is nice and all, and has oodles of funds to run with, but I just don't think he can handle the presidency.

4. If Lincoln was Melungeon, it's arguable that he came within a handful of votes of being the first
Not that anybody cares about stuff like this but me. :)

17. Cool! I'm fascinated by the Melungeon
I think the genetics work done on them is some of the most fascinating ever.

16. His mother Nancy Hanks is said to have been Melungeon
There's some disagreement about that among historians, but most of the disagreement
seems to be more based on unconscious racism than cold, hard fact.

18. She was a former Senator and her campaign was a joke
The voters of Illinois booted her out of office and she runs for higher office.
