Elf Finger Found In Box Of Keebler Cookies

September 14, 2005 | Issue 41•37

PINE MEADOW, CA—Pine Meadow resident Ed Swaney made a gruesome discovery Sunday, when he opened a package of E.L. Fudge Sandwich Cookies and found a tiny, golden-fingernailed appendage believed to be an elfin index finger.

"It was horrifying," said 43-year-old Swaney, a shoe salesman and frequent snacker. "At first, I thought it was just a broken-off little cookie chunk, but then my tongue brushed a tiny bone on the end, and I spit it out."

Forensic investigators say the digit is an index finger, measuring nearly three-quarters of an inch, and bearing a small signet ring embossed with a tree design. A spokesperson for Kellogg's, Keebler's parent company, denied responsibility for the incident.

"The finger found in the box of E.L. Fudge cookies is nearly an inch long," said Kenneth Froud, director of public relations for Kellogg's. "An average Keebler elf is about as tall as a Chips Deluxe cookie. The finger in question is far too big to be that of an elf."

Now you know how Richardson supporters feel. (And Kucinich, Biden, and Dodd supporters. But at least Kucinich gets the "crazy uncle" spotlight on occasion.)

19. I do, when refering to a person (as the poster was doing)
as in "I am a Democrat". Doesn't sound right to say "I am a Democratic" - it is when using it as the name for the party when it is cut off to "Democrat Party" that it is the put down.

Love ya, but I used the term just yesterday (as a noun - describin a person) and I hope by now you don't think I am a troll ;-) :hi:

11. About 9 months ago, I wrote this:
The script has been written: Hillary/Obama vs. Random Bush Doctrine Supporter...

And while the Democrats were to be commended for breaking gender and racial barriers, and while the electorate clearly does not support the GOP's policies, the electorate was clearly not ready for a woman or racial minority this time.

Too bad, better luck in 2016....

And:

And here's where the REAL genius comes in....

Hillary/Obama can lead in the polls, hell, they can lead the exit polls, and the post-Diebold line will be:

"In this 'Politically Correct' culture, respondents were reluctant to tell us how they ACTUALLY voted."

16. The Corporate Media Scoreboard
Edwards has never gotten a fair shake by the corporate media cause he's not a "sexy story". He's not black or a woman or quirky or a beltway weenie-eater...he's an alien in their world and has been treated like one.

The corporate media gave Edwards one shot...Iowa. If he, not Obama, had won, he'd be the great "Hillary killer", but since he didn't win and is now running out of money, they've all but written his obituary...be damned what the voters think.

Sadly, Edwards is the third man on the match in many states...he's behind either Hillary or Obama in many state polls and if he doesn't win in New Hampshire, his chances are all but gone. Unike others, I don't blame the corporate media here...or that Edwards is the "populist" or "too progressive" or whatever...he just hasn't been able to get a real foothold anywhere. Say, if he were to have a huge lead in South Carolina or look like he's gonna win some future primaries, I think you'd see a different storyline.

Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 11:42 AM by donsu

when the host showed the last paper he look into the camera as if to say he knew Edwards was missing.

or that's how it felt to me as I watched each paper being put into place for the camera. all but the last one, Edwards.
