1. Really? Will they ever stop with such nonsense?
Nope, they will not. In one ear and out the other.

18. Obviously he doesn't
But doesn't it make a lot of viewers feel just a bit off-balance: "Trotsky? Edwards is like Trotsky? Hanh? Who was Trotsky? Guy who got himself ax-murdered in Mexico, as I recall. Well, it's George Will, after all. Must know what he's talking about. Better nod sagely as if what he just said makes a lick of sense."

Honestly, in a more just society, Will would be confined to a padded cell, where his lunatic ravings would be heard only by mice in the walls, and his red crayon rantings would be reviewed by a team of psychologists to see if there was any cure at all, or if it would be more humane to simply put him out of his obvious misery.

10. That panel discussion was truly unbelievable. I recorded it so I can go back later and transcribe
it if a transcript isn't forthcoming soon. I couldn't believe how they've completely changed the story... must have been up working overtime all night on the spin. Now I'm watching Richardson blow hot air on Late Edition and Edwards has disappeared.. again.

11. I will absolutely verify that I heard this, too, on This Week.
I was b*tched at yesterday for not having links to what I heard on MSNBC, so I was hoping that someone else heard this and would post.

Kooky Roberts also said that Americans didn't want angry candidates. They don't want someone that makes them uncomfortable. They (the angry candidates) are not nice people. And no I don't have an effing link, and no, the transcript is not up yet. And yes, she was most likely talking about Edwards OR Hillary for her "outburst".

13. As an aside...
dont' you hate that?

I was scanning the cahnnels and I saw that Faux was imminently going to run the piece of O'Lielly assaulting the Obama staffer...I quickly posted it since I figured that most folks wouldn't know, I mean, who watches Faux c onstatntly here...and almost immediately came the posts: Where's the frigging link...vacuous post...etc.

OK OK OK...so I'm not perfect...don't fricking kill me...I'm just trying to benefit others here. So much for altruism.

they don't have the 'power'. Knowledge of what they're saying and then gainsaying that is power. Ignorance is weakness.

23. So OK, here's another view on "ignorance" and tee-vee
Ratings...when their ratings drop...they losse their power. Shut the damned tee-vee off is my motto. You can 'see' what these goons vomitted out of their mouths via many, many progressive, liberal websites if you really need to know.

Do you think THEY should be watching and do I need that as a filter?

I believe that I can do what needs to be done. I understand your point but I believe that it is unrealistic and counterintuitive to my personal needs.

Run Now, Obama

By George F. Will
Thursday, December 14, 2006; Page A31

New Hampshire was recently brightened by the presence of Barack Obama, 45, who, calling the fuss about him "baffling," made his first trip in 45 years to that state, and not under duress. Because he is young, is just two years distant from a brief career as a state legislator and has negligible national security experience, an Obama presidential candidacy could have a porcelain brittleness. But if he wants to be president -- it will not be a moral failing if he decides that he does not, at least not now -- this is the time for him to reach for the brass ring. There are four reasons why.

First, one can be an intriguing novelty only once. If he waits to run, the past half-century suggests that the wait could be eight years (see reason four, below). In 2016 he will be only 55, but there will be many fresher faces.

Second, if you get the girl up on her tiptoes, you should kiss her. The electorate is on its tiptoes because Obama has collaborated with the creation of a tsunami of excitement about him. He is nearing the point when a decision against running would brand him as a tease who ungallantly toyed with the electorate's affections.

Third, he has, in Hillary Clinton, the optimal opponent. The contrast is stark: He is soothing; she is not. Many Democrats who are desperate to win are queasy about depending on her. For a nation with jangled nerves, and repelled by political snarling, he offers a tone of sweet reasonableness.

(end snip)

to stop the Iraq invasion. He has hated Bonior ever since he took out Newt Gingrich. And now he is Edwards campaign manager.
And he knows of David Boniors history of fighting for labor and the middle class.
I love it. George Will is a walking corporate stool.

Take a self-serving, opportunistic, faux liberal like John Edwards, demonize him, let him fail, spectacularly, and then, as if by magick, Democrats with long term records of actually fighting for progressive issues, are marginalized even more effectively than they were before. It's all part of moving the left ever further to the centre, and the centre ever further right.

38. To right wing nutjobs
All Dems are slightly to the left of Lenin in their fevered brain cells that stand as substitutes for minds.

Right wing nut jobs are terrified that environmental regulations will lead us into a communist style totalitarian state. They have no problem with the government spying on us without warrants, however. They are afraid of the UN - it will take over America, they think. But they are not afraid of the police having unlimited powers to catch "terrorists."

We're just lucky he didn't call Edwards "America's bin Laden" or the like.
