1. Were an antichoicer like Casey to declare
and somehow win the nomination, I'd sit it out.

That's the line I won't cross.

It would be like crossing the abolitionist line in the 1850s.

2. Any one of them is so far superior
to any one of the Republicans that there really can be no argument. The only thing I'm concerned about is if those Unity '08 folks come out with a candidate that will steal some of our votes.

3. I'll vote for any of them. All four of them are great candidates.
Obama's got my vote in the primary, but if one of the others wins, I've got no problem with that.

21. After the Convention, I assume DU won't allow folks to...
Waste bandwidth dissing our nominee?

I really hope our nominee is either Edwards or Obama, though as much as I don't like Hillary - she has my vote if our party gives her the nod in August.

Once we move beyond the convention, it is all about beating the rethug nominee in the GE. ANYTHING which runs counter-intuitive to supporting the effort to WIN in November should not be supported by DU. That is my assumption anyway.

During the primaries of course, I see dissent and disagreement as all part of the Democratic process.

Especially if it's Wetzelbill. He's the most "anyone" of 'em all!

10. Is Wetzebill REALLY "anyone"? I've always thought he was more like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny,
or a Unicorn -- you know, a mythical construct.

The only one I don't care for now is Edwards, but I would get over that REALLY FAST if he were our Dem nominee. I want Clinton or Obama, but I will fight hard for any of them.

Right wingers for a very long time just to keep their grudge candidate out of office. Quite a shame!

24. I hope as the election draws near...
That grudge will fad and common sense will kick in. I sure as hell don't want Hillary as our nominee, but even she is better than another rethug on The Hill and a generation of a RW SCOTUS.

I think listening to Mitt, John, or Mike babble on touting their bullshit may inspire folks to vote to at least keep them OUT!

15. I'd probably vote for any of those listed
but "ANY" is too vague.

I'm becoming less and less able to justify my views and Senator Clinton's, but even as a moderate republican, she's far preferable to the religiously insane, outright criminal and blinkered morons in the repuke crew. I don't see us getting real change in this election.

I respect your right to have it.

And assume if Obama or Clinton are the party's nominee, you won't be on DU dissing them in November.

31. If Obama or Clinton is the nominee,
I'll be on DU doing any number of things. Discussing issues, which is a higher priority for me than discussing elections. If I'm discussing elections, it will be whatever I'm doing for state and local candidates, if they happen to be Dems.

No, I won't be "dissing" the nominee on DU. I don't seem plagued by the hypocrisy that allows some to attack viciously and persistently NOW, and suddenly act like they've had some sort of religious conversion after the convention. If I don't like them now, I won't like them then. Knowing DU rules, of course, I won't be campaigning against them, or supporting a non-dem, here at DU.

Thanks for your concern.

33. Most likely the one our esteemed corporations have already selected.
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 10:11 AM by HughBeaumont
Who, not surprisingly, leads this poll.

Utterly amazing that, knowing the risks involved with nominating someone with a large amount of negatives and baggage, almost sure to divide the left and center, lose the South and mobilize Republican voters more than any other candidate, our supposed party of thinkers seem destined to make this patently bad choice.

Then again, if everyone seems so flippantly confident that "their girl" can beat any Republican candidate in a landslide . . . that she's going to the White House "with or without you" . . . then I guess that's an indication my general vote doesn't really matter anyway, does it?
