I didn't watch tonight's debacle (I saw the ABC one yesterday, that was plenty entertaining) but was reading wrap up and commentary on it, and apparently the Luntz "focus group", randomly selected I'm sure :eyes: , unanimously picked Romney as the big winner of the FOX debate and bashed Huckabee while they were at it.

Did anyone watch this and could comment upon this?

Also: Are they actually giving up on Giuliani after him crapping the bed so badly in the early going?

2. Not really. The debate was slanted against him
and he did do well. Almost all the reviews seem to agree that he won.

7. Fox likes Romney
Fox has always liked Romney. Fox does not know who this "Rudy" person is that you refer to. Unless his poll number take a dramatic jump. In that case, please do a universal search-and-replace of Rudy for Romney. Any positive references to Rudy right now are doubleplusungood.

5. It makes sense to me. . .
Faux News likely sees Romney as the perfect representative of their network. They've got to appreciate someone who is so openly manipulative.

8. When I think of Romney now, I think about how FDR's Sec. of Labor Harold Ickes,
said of Thomas Dewey " He looks like the bridegroom at the top of a wedding cake". Perfect description of Romney.

9. It's The Anything But Huckster Network
Yep, the network was all behind Rudy in the start...but also made a lot of noise on behalf of Fredericks of Trailer Park. Neither of those candidates...who had a good helping of boooshie acolytes working for them...is viable now, so what's a network to do? They can't embrace McCain yet as they spent all last summer trashing him to build up Rudeee. The Huckster is their worst nightmare...a candidate they not only can't own, but appears not to need them. Imagine the "credibility" blow here in the repugnican tent if Faux backs the wrong horse and loses.

The Mittster seems to be the "firewall" for many "regular" repugnicans right now...a totally vacuous candidate that can be bought and manipulated while McCain and the Huckster can't.
