I'm not trying to convince anyone, and I honestly would be perfectly happy with any of the Dems running at the moment.
However, I do believe a few things:
- I think it is true that Barack Obama has not been fully vetted by the public, and that his charisma and his feel-good message are carrying his campaign. There is a superficial magic surrounding him, but that doesn't mean that he won't be effective.
- I do think Hillary Clinton has been picked apart by journalists more than the other Dems in the primary, but I think that's because she has always been the front-runner. I don't think there is some grand media conspiracy, either; after all, she IS Hillary Clinton.
- Regarding the last minute negative campaigning from Hillary and Bill: I'm really not worried about it. I don't think it's a bad sign for the party or the Clintons. It's simply what politicians do when they're behind and they're facing an opponent that hasn't been vetted by the media or the public. I'm sure New Hampshire primary voters will vote their consciouses regardless.
- Either Hillary or Barack will be excellent presidents; however, the jackass in the White House has set the bar so low, I think that any Joe or Jane Q. Democrat could run a simplistic charisma campaign and get elected easily. The political climate we're dealing with now is a result of history, and we're responding to that history with a call for great change in our country.
