Dennis Kucinich to introduce Articles of Impeachment against the President of the United States...
JAY: Just one final question. What's your next step on impeachment?

KUCINICH: I am preparing right now about a fifty-count document relating to the impeachment of the president of the United States.

JAY: This is directed at Bush, not Cheney.

KUCINICH: Right. And it's taken many months to prepare. And at some point in the not too distant future I will be bringing it forward. I think, I don't see this as something that I'm injecting because it's a presidential season, 'cause I've been on this issue, expressed my concerns about the violation of the law a long time before I was running for president. I do feel it's important to know where the other presidential candidates stand on the level of conduct that they would expect to be obtained by anyone who's in the Oval Office. If the level of conduct by George Bush and by Dick Cheney is sufficient and is thought to be acceptable by the other Democratic candidates, then we are on our way to establishing a new low for the norms that we would expect of a president and vice president, and we are on our way to accepting violations of law that would destroy our constitution, especially since congressional leadership is taking impeachment off the table. So we need to know what kind of conduct those who are in the Oval Office would feel would be justified as president of the United States. That is a major question that needs to be answered. And I've already indicated the high level of conduct that I think should be expected out of a president and vice president.

Of course, we all know that this will go no where... no one intends on actually holding any of these criminals accountable for deceiving this nation into war, stealing us all blind and ruining our international and domestic image... America will turn a blind eye yet again and be damned. Honestly, I really hope the atheists are right and there is no God... I know they are wrong but I wish they were right... for if there is no God, we will never be called into account for the evil we allow to continue in our names.

Thank you Dennis for fighting the fights that need fought...

Mike

up to them as all of the rest seem to have puke poop on their noses to one degree or another. Yes, you criticize him for f-ing it up when nobody else running is doing a damn thing about it or supporting DK in his effort. Maybe you should get what you deserve, but I and many other good people want what's right and make the effort to achieve it, so quit blaming him for you and many others riding his ass and you complain that he can't reach that goal while carrying this dead weight. He did his part which is more than the other candidates or you did it would seem.

52. How exactly
did he screw that up? He introduced articles of impeachment last year in HR 333, they were referred to committee and never heard from again. He reintroduced articles against Cheney under privilege in HR 799 and the Dem leadership tried to kill it. When that failed, it was referred to the same committee as the original resolution, never to be heard from again. There was also a media blackout on the entire thing.

So what exactly did he screw up?

Ron Paul suffers a similar media blackout, but he has a small but determined group of supporters. I see Ron Paul signs everywhere and his name is all over the internet like a rash. Why can't Kucinich supporters (and I include myself in this) be as well organized?

64. it's not just organization, it's also money
Ron Paul's policy would make some wealthy people much more wealthy, where-as DK's would make some wealthy people less wealthy, but a lot of poor people well off. I don't have money to donate to a presidential candidate. I have to think about things like paying my rent and buying food, and if I'm lucky, having some left over to pay for my student loans.

As goes the organization, even lots of well meaning and good hearted Democrats are swayed by the media to move to a "more viable" candidate, even when they support DK on the issues. Yeah, I know, end of democracy.

Voter fraud is when the voter, him/herself commits the fraud. Election fraud is when the powers that be rig an election.

20. Members banned from the Kucinich Site
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 08:32 AM by Cornfields_4_Peace
"We are moving towards fascism. There's no question about it. So are we looking for a Democratic form of fascism as compared to a Republican form of fascism? Or are we looking for a profound return to the basic principles of our democracy?"

I fail to see a difference between who banning dissent on a political website and fascists around the World who curtail free expression. Only Kings and Dictators make people tell them what they want to hear.

Many members of the Kucinich website have been banned for speaking out on the Kucinich Website. It is either a glitch or they are extremely censuring the site.
I can't support a political machine like that.

That is not the America I want.

I'm not from Nigeria and don't need a date! :) I haven't a clue why I was banned other than perhaps the Kucinich site has technical troubles as it has been plagued with.

If I was banned for not agreeing with everyone on everything, I would consider that Un-American but who knows these days why?

I am hopeful it was a glitch, otherwise Dennis Kucinich would not be the man I would hope he is.

84. I don't know what to tell you then. I wouldn't be upset,
but try to reapply to it. Do not believe you were thrown off deliberately if you had done nothing wrong, but how to reach through the red tape once a glitch is in place does pose a problem for you and may not be worth the effort as time constraints may show it to be a futile effort, especially seeing as how his ratings are poor. For the record, I had some difficulties navigating the site with hangups and long wait times and I'm not on dialup. He had limited funds to work with seeing as how he relied upon individual contributions without the luxuries of big corporate monies that others have seen so this reared it's ugly head for him to work within the means presented and that includes the notso best website with enough to handle all smoothly. He still will try to do the most good with the little of what's left as he can. Peace.

27. Bush And Cheney Are Traitors

I am appalled by the manipulations currently afoot w/r/t the Strait of Hormuz this week.

Let's not get so into primary season that we keep our eyes locked on the US.

Bush/Cheney are at it again, and it's like, SOMEBODY STOP THEM IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THEY TRIGGER WORLD WAR III.

It's all about the euro-denominated bourse Iran opened up last year, but it is UGLY.

What can we do to stop these madmen this time ?

I want to PUNISH the news media that help Bush and Cheney amplify their message this time.

I want to SEND BUSH AND CHENEY TO GUANTANAMO WHERE THEY BELONG.

I also want our candidates to start talking about this incident, and what it means that the US totally created a phony "mashup" to try to rush us into war with Iran.

LET'S GET THE TREASON OUT IN THE OPEN WHERE AMERICANS CAN SEE IT !!!

thank you dennis kucinich !!!

The candidate that your post refers to, I believe, is Joe Cimperman, who is one of several Democrats who have announced primary challenges to DK. Since there also is at least one announced repub candidate, I'd be interested in a link supporting the contention that repubs are touting Cimperman's campaign.

the snippet I was able to read from that thread didn't mention Cimperman's party, just his ties to corporations. It is odd that Dems would be wanting to defeat Dennis--why aren't they spending their time trying to get Dems elected in Republican districts? Heck, in mine, the Dems sometimes don't even run a candidate!

38. Americans by and large
dont give a shit. Most Americans dont care that we killed a million Iraqis in an illegal invasion of their country. Most Americans dont give a shit about corporate give aways, ignoring science, incompetent leaders, republican takeover of all federal agencies, people dying due to an immoral medical system. And with a corporate media whose clear objective is to protect Bush and the status quo...those of us who do care will just have to learn to live with it. I love what Kucinich is doing and what he stands for but I have all but given up on the hope that anything will stop the slow sinking of this nation into a slimey pool of fascist muck while compassion and the rule of law are laughed at and ridiculed by the majority of the population.

Good luck Dennis but the truth is Americans just dont really give shit.

70. This is necessary since any candidate's promises aren't worth beans until the occupation ends
The war is so costly, no president will be able to tackle key domestic issues like health care until we exit Iraq
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/010908E.shtml

and one way to get a new commander in chief is to get the ones we have Bush/Cheney out a.s.a.p.
They are enemies of the constitution and have proven that. An impeachment trial would really be a mere formality.

73. There needs to be more coordination
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 06:07 PM by windoe
-you hear from Dennis Kucinich, then at another time George McGovern, then we all sign a petition that is presented, but it is not happening at the same time. I believe there needs to be more adherence, and an opportunity for great numbers of people to speak with ONE VOICE on this issue--at the same time so we can all be counted. All these groups need to network together!!
