You go, John.
I don't know if I'll follow you. I was leaning towards Edwards and away from Obama, but I'll have to read your comments and give it another think. I also have to take into consideration that if I want Kerry to get a position in someone's government, it's now pretty obvious that he will only get that position if Obama wins.

Meanwhile, there's something about the announcement that made me smile. Because the reason I was having trouble fully embracing Edwards was because I knew he's been distancing himself from Kerry, making comments about their campaign and from what I hear distancing himself personally as well.

And John's endorsement of Obama sort of confirms that. Oh, I'm sure there's more to it. Kerry wouldn't endorse one person just to get back at another. I'm sure he feels Obama is really the right man for the job. And Kerry sure doesn't have any close ties to the Clintons, so I knew he wouldn't endorse them. I frankly thought he might not endorse anyone.

But the jerk in me thinks it's damned funny.

1. This is the deal between Kerry and Edwards:
John Kerry:

"My friends, the harsh fact now is that in the last election more than one million African-Americans were disenfranchised in one of the most tainted elections in history. We can do better - and we have to. We have to see to it in November that every vote counts - and every vote is counted."

Edwards said on election night that every vote would be counted. Kerry decided to not keep his word, and conceded to Bush without all the votes being counted.

That was the end for them. John Kerry did not keep his word to the American people. And we all know what the results of that have been.

African Americans who had stood for hours trying to get in to vote in what turned out to be a rigged election.

He has an heroic military record and a progressive record in the Senate.

But his quickly folding after his Ohio "defeat" was not his finest hour.

3. Kerry said the next day as he conceded that they would be counted
It is normal to concede before all the votes are counted when the result is clear given the number of outstanding votes. In fact, Edwards gave a concession speech in NH well before all the votes were counted. The edwards comments on election eve were the campaigns message - not Edwards on his own. You can't count votes never cast because of long lines, registrations not registered or ballots with errors - all of which were included in the RFKjr analysis.

Kerry spoke out on the election problems often starting in January 2005 - Edwards was silent. Has he said what his case would have been? Remember that even when there was proof as in NH 2002, it was 4 years before it actually got through the courts.

5. I.M.O.
I thought Edwards sucked as the VP choice. He did nothing for Kerry. That's just my opinion.
