Positive portayals of people with disabillities.
First, we have Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare's campaign, "Pity. It's 100% Curable". http://www.curepity.org/

The Canadian Down Syndrome society has had many positive ad campigns in the past, incliding "Different Genes, Same Value." http://www.cdss.ca/site/about_us/welcome.php . Their vision is "A proud Canada where ALL are welcome, we embrace diversity and we value everyone's genes equally."

There's also this one, from the British Special Olympics: http://www.sogb.org.uk/btdt.html

Feel free to post your own!

1. Here's another one:

Bloorviw Kids Rehab's slogan is "From disabillity to posibillity". http://www.bloorview.ca/

Edit: I actually learned to swim there, and also went to one of their day camps! They have fully integrated swim lessons and camps for kids at all abillity levels (at least they did a few years ago), and those experiences (growing up around people with visible disabillities), really shaped my attitudes and opinions to this day.

Here's an article about their integrated kindergarten program: http://www.bloorview.ca/newsroom/stories/integratedkindergarten.php

Again, it's an amazing thing to do, because when able-bodied kids grow up around people with disabillities, they learn from an early age that they're really not that much different from anyone else.

2. People have a hard time believing this...
But the movie "The Ringer" about the guy who fakes being mentally disabled to compete in the special olympics was actually given the o.k. and comendation from the Special Olympics and a few other groups for it's portrayals. It's hard to believe since it's a Farrelly Brothers movie and it stars the guy from Jackass and the plot sounds offensive as can be. And I didn't believe it myself until I saw it on cable. But I have an uncle who was mentally challenged and I had a lot of dealings with the people he lived with in a group home and went to school with and I have to agree that it was a humorous, sensitive, and accurate portrayal. If people found humor in the conditions and types of personalities portrayed then it was their own shortcomings showing through and not with the portrayal. Same with the Kids of Widney High. I know a lot of people see that as kitschy and humorous but I've seen that there is a ton of value in that program and benefit to people/kids with those conditions who see and hear them performing.

Not sure if you were just getting at ad campaigns or other forms of media but these two stick out to me especially having family in this situation.
