Well.. MSNBC just declared the "death of the Democratic Party"
"being torn to pieces over race, (pause) and gender. (period)" - followed by just about what you'd expect in the way of meaningless blather. . .

I just had yet another one of those "shoot the damn screen out moments...

1. Yep...and who started this fight and this meme?
It amazes me how many people here have fallen right into line with their plan.

13. Sometimes I think we (DU) did.
"Yep...and who started this fight and this meme?"

Sometimes I think we (DU) did (was that your point? I'm a bit daft, today). And if we didn't start it, we sure as hell are enabling it.

9. The difference is in November the republicans will find a way to pull together
While we'll be self-righteously withholding our votes because our choice didn't get the nomination.

18. They're Setting Up For That Now.......
- calls by a general to pull out of Guantanamo
- * pushing for a peace plan in the ME before he leaves office
- pull back of troops from Iraq
- cash to americans to stave off recession

are just some of the things that are being massaged so that when the nominees for both parties are finally selected - a lot of wind will be out of the sails of the Dem nominee.

3. Lets us voters really mess with the MSM
and vote strongly for Edwards or Kucinich in the coming elections, so that it isn't Clinton/Obama/Obama/ Clinton 24-7. I'm sick of the MSM telling us who are candidates are and who we are to pick.

I said let the voters choose. Last time I heard, letting the voters decide rather than the MSM WAS democratic.

27. haha, no wonder it was sponsored by a damn theatre.
It had nothing to do with keeping "free TV" and everything to do with not giving people another reason to skip out on the movie theatre. I was digging the ad until I heard to sign the petition in the theatre lobby. Then I realized it was just a chain of movie threatres fighting in their best interest...except movie theatres aren't free, either.

The truth is the opposite. The Republicans are dying. Unless they find a savior like Ronald Reagan, the November election will send them the way of the Dinosaurs.

16. Well, I'm seeing the party commit seppuku ... but it can't seem to find its guts.
Michigan and Florida have been told to "fuck off" and will (almost doubtless) vote 5% more to the right in November than if the voters had been respected. I can only credit that to the "blue dog" wing - feeling safe due to their absence of any guts whatsoever.

33. And, you people are surprised by this?
What did you think would happen? This is just the beginning, and it's going to get worse, a lot worse, the repubs haven't started in yet. But, everyone is so jazzed about a black man and a woman running for President that they have forgotten what the REAL world is out there. Damn, sometimes I think dems are really stupid, or is it they just have their head in the clouds. Obama and Clinton should never have run for President, they should have brokered a deal with Biden or Dodd or Richardson or even Edwards where they would be the VP nominee. When their time for running for President came, they would be vetted and people of the entire US would welcome their run. It would have been no big deal, to anyone that a black man or a woman was running for President, as they had already been VP.

Oh well, let the whining, bitching and wringing of hands continue.

zalinda

Punchline to Nietzsche's declaration that God is dead.

Arrogant pissants. When will they declare the GOP has been torn to pieces over religious bigotry and fear of the fundies they pander to? When will they point out that these famously fiscal conservatives have no plans for America's economic safety?
Oh. Right. Never.

36. Imagine that. I read an article in McClatchy News that says it's the GOP that is fracturing.
Amazing how opinions vary depending on who is doing the talking and which orifice they're using.

This article said that the house that Ronnie built is crumbling and that much of it's demise can be laid at the feet of the war on Terror!®. Of course there's plenty of blame for the horrible field of candidates they have running this year also.

Link below to the article for those interested.

Campaign exposes deep rifts in GOP coalition
