Political discussion at work the other day
people bitching about paying for the poor.
My response was that I would rather the pittace 1% of our tax dollars go to poor people than the 50% welfare we give to corporations.
And yeah...I pulled the figures straight out of my ass...but I got the point across.:)

1. How about this
I worked for the State Dept. of Human Services here in Colorado. Some people I worked with voted Repuke and bitched about the poor, too. Hypocrisy on more than one level.

Good for you for pointing out the facts. Hope it sunk in instead of bouncing off their rubber heads.

2. Had "independent" (repub lite) folks tell me that recently too.
They finally figured out The Party of Business is not for small business.

3. Good for you, Horse. So many people bitch about paying for the poor,
and as you pointed out, the US spends SOOOOOOOOOO much more on corporate welfare. Not to mention imperial wars.
