Tom Joyner at it again (this time with Kwame Kilpatrick)
Remember I told the story of how Tom Joyner interviewed Rep. Kendrid Meek of Florida (who has endorsed Sen Clinton) and his very first question to him was "There's a perfectly qualified Black man running for President. Why aren't you supporting Sen. Obama?"

Now Tom Joyner is at it again, this with Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. He just finished interviewing him, and asked who he was supporting. Kilpatrick mentioned he was not supporting any particular candidate right now, and Joyner siad to him "Kwame, you're not getting behind the Black candidate?"

This is precisely what I mean about Tom Joyner and his constant assertions that we in Black America should automatically get behind Obama simply becuase he's Black.

It's disappointing to me because it does absolutely nothing to elevate the conversation in our community.

I loved Kwame's response. He said he wasn't going to simply make an emotional decision....that Detroit has too many issues and he's waiting for a candidate to really address them.

1. Tom Joyner is re-enforcing the negative stereotype of the extremes.
In this case, it is the far left. Supporting someone ONLY because of race is absurd.
Kwame was smart to leave Joyner in the way that he did.

2. Tom is unapologetic about it
He's heard the criticism before. Actually there isn't much difference in Hillary and Barack's position.
