Heard this interview yesterday and it brought to light how as the USA has tightened it's border security since the mid-1990's thus making it more difficult to travel back and forth.
One unintended consequence is that workers no longer cross the border and return back home with relative ease. That prospect has become to dangerous.
What is happening now, and has been happening as the risk has increased, the illegal immigrants bring their whole families over in one shot and stay, thus compounding issues.
Something I hadn't considered in the rush to "seal the borders".
This is one more reason to focus on the employer and for everyone to not hire illegally.
