Steroid Use in Sports
Hearing on Steroids in Major League Baseball and the Mitchell Report
Table of Contents
Overview

Chairman Waxman's Opening Statement

The full Committee held a hearing entitled “The Mitchell Report: The Illegal Use of Steroids in Major League Baseball.” This hearing examined Senator George Mitchell’s investigation into the illegal use of steroids in Major League Baseball.

The Mitchell report has raised significant concerns about the pervasive use of performance enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball for more than a decade. The Committee has previously heard testimony about the devastating consequences when the culture of major league clubhouses trickles down to become the culture of the high school gym.

The following witnesses testified:

The Honorable George Mitchell, former United States Senator
Mr. Bud Selig, Commissioner, Major League Baseball
Mr. Donald M. Fehr, Executive Director, Major League Baseball Players Association

2. Because then they would be doing their job, stupid.
Remember, everything changed after 9-11.

We now live in opposite world, one in which congress, instead of worrying about stupid ass things like the constitution and the state of the nation, spends its time talking about baseball steroid use and flying back to DC for a special emergency session to talk about a woman on life support.

I've seen some dumb questions before, but yours tops the list.

:P

5. because the Dems in congress want to posture and pose and appear to be "DOING SOMETHING IMPORTANT"
but they are too freaking spineless and cowardly to do anything REAL, much less important.

6. They have to pretend to be working for the salaries and benefits
we slave away to pay for. Otherwise if they really wanted to address the dire straights we were in they could start by addressing the banking industry. As it falls down around this election. O yea, and does anyone have any idea if the Secretary of state is still alive. This was posted at a web site I'm not to familiar with-worldreports.org.
