Yankee Go Home!

More mid east violence in the wake of Bush's hypocrisy tour of the region, this time in Lebanon. The Wall Street Journal reports that "A bomb blast shook Beirut sending smoke billowing above the city Tuesday evening, in what Lebanese officials said was an attack against vehicles belonging to the U.S. Embassy. U.S. and Lebanese officials said the attack killed four Lebanese and injured a local embassy employee. The attack, coming amid President Bush's region-wide sweep of the Middle East, is a significant shift in violence here, which has so far been mostly confined to attacks on political and military leaders.

Tuesday's attack would represent a dramatic affront to Mr. Bush's Middle East sweep. The president is currently in Saudi Arabia, and plans to visit Egypt Wednesday. Before leaving Washington, there was speculation that Mr. Bush could make a stopover in Beirut to offer a show of support to the beleaguered, pro-U.S. government there."

So, when does all this peace and democracy-bringing begin? All it seems the Bush Crime Family can deliver to the region is slaughter, death, and destruction.

Bush is begging those pillars of democracy and civil rights, the Saudis, to "Open the spigots" and give him more oil. "Oil prices are very high, which is tough on our economy. I would hope, as OPEC considers different production levels, that they understand that if one of their biggest consumers' economy suffers, it will mean less purchases, less gas and oil sold," CNN quoted Bush from a Tuesday meeting with Saudi King Abdullah.

And what happens if the spigots remain closed? Can you say . . . recession? I knew you could.

One of my fondest memories is going to see JFK on campaign stops here in NYC in 1960. He was so handsome he took your breath away and he gave everyone who heard him a feeling of hope for our nation. Edwards I beleive has that same aura. Don't deny the kids this chance to see him.
