An important "if" question that really bugs.

If you knew for sure, by an esoteric infallible means, that the only way a democrat could be elected president next fall, would be if he were John Edwards, would you vote to nominate Hillary, Dennis, or Obama?

I ask this because it honestly does seem to be that way. I think it is clearly the truth. So, please answer according to the format of the question.

And then after you answer the hypothetical question, comment on whether or not you believe that to be the case. (That Edwards is the only one of the three that can beat McCain, Romney, or Huckabee.)

1. If that were infallibly true, I'd vote for JE. But I don't think it's infallibly true
at all. I think all three of our front runners could win.

2. There is no way to know for sure
Polls, as we know, can be very bad at predicting the future. I can admit that if we nominate Sen. Clinton we have some historical challenges, and the 3rd party problems, but that doesn't mean she can't win.

8. Heya sis!
Tonight is the conference call to kick off the PA campaign. :woohoo:

Friday is the grassroots word-of-mouth donation day. T-shirts, bumperstickers, yard signs -- anything from the store counts as a donation as well as regular donations for the matching funds according to asdjrocky.

:bounce:

5. I think there are so many pros and semi-pros around that it is very possible
that candidate standings are more affected by these professional ambitions than they are by the will of the People. Quite simply, some people want their particular candidate to be nominated more than they want what is best to win. Perhaps this is because they don't really feel that it makes any difference to the win in the long run which of our candidates is nominated, that the ultimate goal, winning, is really much more about them and their professional machine/processes than it is about what we want.

14. You make a good point. So substitute Hillary or Obama for Edwards.
Now, please answer the question.
