The basic lie in the theory that the president can't make the economy better by himself
The natterers are talking about the upcoming RECESSION. They all say that no president, Dem or Repubic, can change the economy with the stroke (or two) of a pen.

Actually, the president can.

All it takes is to utter the words "End this stupid war now".

Bing Bang Boom ...... haffa trillion bux available for meaningful stuff.

1. the only reason the economy hasn't tanked earlier
is because of huge government spending.
This is the biggest, bloatedest US government ever.
And that includes the military

2. There are many other things a Prez can do.
He can put a stop to outsourcing and fake free trade deals. He can push to raise the minimum wage. He can stop giving tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, and give that money to the middle class and working poor. He can stop the depts of Labor and Commerce from assisting giant corps in evading overtime pay. He can put more money into job training. The list is quite long.

10. Sorry, but our war toys contracts are awarded to US companies, which
then subcontract to over seas companies, i.e., China, etc. Even Japan & S. Korea now does this.

11. Any specific examples?
are you talking about complete major weapon systems (ships, guns, artillery, tanks) or simply some of the components that go into them?
