Reading about this asswipe Rove and his "advice" to Clinton and Obama...

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/01/17/rove-targets-clinton-obama/

Gawd Rove, how many folks have died because you served as an architect for Shrub's lies? Who gives a shit about any of your proselytizing! I'm telling you, he is living in the White House basement.

I'll admit, I enjoy a spirited debate as much as the next political junkie and I dearly hope either Edwards or Obama is our nominee. For now, we will fight it out in the primaries. When the dust settles, I'm voting DEM in the GE regardless.

When I think about ALL THE ENERGY we are currently spending trying to talk each other into voting for the right Democrat and/or are dissing each other for voting for the wrong Democrat ---- when I imagine all that angry and focused DU energy directed toward one single fucking puke nominee in the fall - I can only smile! :) :) :)

Damn folks, we will kick rethug butt HUGE this fall!

Can't wait....

:kick: :kick:  :kick: :kick:

And I really look forward to being on the same side again! :pals:

1. Heh....
We all want the same thing. End to the Iraqi occupation, universal healthcare, environmental issues, a more robust economy. The rest is just petty bickering.... ;)

2. We will never be all on the same side
The Republicans and Democrats, at least as it stands now, are just two sides of the same coin.

A do-nothing Democratic controlled Congress has chosen to send nasty letters and stern looks at Republicans who, in turn, thumb their noses from across the aisle.

Until the Democrats grow a spine they'll continue to be the doormat.

3. The only consolation is
that the repukes are doing the same thing, if not worse.

Their frontrunners are throwing money around and flinging poo at each other. Giuliani and Thompson are making utter fools of themselves. They are all demoralized and, in their hearts, without a hope in hell of sitting in the oval office.

4. Thanks for this awesome post! It is just what I needed to hear tonight.
Everyone on DU has been in a circular firing squad lately, and I hate that feeling. I've always come to DU for the camaraderie and sense of shared struggle. I hate it when I come to DU for a boost and leave feeling more drained and hopeless than I did before, because so many people spent so much time trying to take down other people's candidates and spirits.

Sometimes, I know I'm guilty of it, too. The primaries are tough.

But I can't wait until the Democratic convention, when Al Gore comes up and gives a speech endorsing whoever our nominee is. I know that'll be a great night on DU. :)

6. I am assuming that be you a Dem, Indie, Progressive, or...
converted rethug - that by the time it is US vs THEM in the GE - that regardless of one's political affiliation - if your on DU, you will be working to defeat the pukes in the fall.

No grey area there.

Our BIG BLUE TENT is wide enough to accommodate a diversity of views, but come GE time - there will be no room here for dissent or disruption. In that sense, per my OP - can't wait to all be playing on the same side.

And I have every confidence DU will close ranks and do just that!

peace~:)

7. not that simple sorry

Many of us do not see a Democrat V Republican contest as "us and them" at all. I couldn't give a flying what label someone puts on but I care if they support wars, coups and murder for profit and every single Democrat does.

Not one single candidate would ever dream of reducing US world power nor compromising it's wealth. In order to remain as the lone superpower any US President needs to commit horrendous acts of violence which I can not support.

I'm not a capitalist and no matter how Kumbaya-like one wants to claim their version of survival of the robber barrons is, it is still exploitative and wrong.

The Democrat/Republican pony show is simply a distraction and means very little to dead Iraqi, Palestinian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Afghan, Nicaraguan (etc etc) people.

I will never be on the same side as Huckabee or Romney but that doesn't automatically make me on the same side as Clinton, Edwards, Obama or any other capitalist, there are infinitely more "sides" than that to consider.

8. I wish it were that simple
but when I look at this congress, I wonder. And what about how Dodd has been treated for dare trying to stop the telecommunications immunity?

9. Again? When were we all on the same side before?
I can't recall. It must predate 1966 when I was born then.

I'm sure we'd all agree that Bush sucks as a president. However, we wouldn't be Democrats if we all agreed on everything.
