2. At the latest.
We are one or two bits of well-timed bad news away from a rather steep drop. The S&P 500 is 10 points away from going through major resistance, and that ain't good.

10. What does one use to get technical charts that label "resistence"?

15. Fibonacci Curves...
Are one way. Alas, a dark, eldritch and arcane art, those things. Not unlike alchemy.

There are places out there that advise as to resistance points, for those who do not run real-time S&P graphs on their computers. I was reading, on one site, that 1370 was the present lower resistance, and that presently the S&P was at 1380 or there-'bouts.

6. Sometime between the end of Bernanke's testimony and
Friday. If he announces a cut today, it's all over by tomorrow. I've been listening to the entire hearing and a) our Congress is a bunch of boot-lickin' idiots (including the gentlelady from OH who thought Bernanke was Paulson) and b) it's sounding really, REALLY bad.

It's so bad, in fact, that they are discussing how to best inject about $100 billion into your pocket and mine in an effort to save the economy from completely folding.

18. No, they'll get a deadcat bounce first
the big boys will use the rate cut to rape the little guy some more first and we'll have a stop to the freefall, maybe even a positive day or two for the pump and dump. I think it's going to take until the end of the month to hit 11,999 and below.

Edited to add: I just looked. DOW -154. There's your bounce right there. Because now, just seconds later, it's down -180.

8. It kind of sucks.
Our IRAs have been seriously hemorrhaging the last two months. I don't even look at our statements anymore, they're so depressing. Looks like I'll be working until I drop dead over this keyboard.

I'm not cheerleading anything. I just need to figure out how much I need to sell and change into gold.
