Recount Obstruction Tactics Cause Outrage in New Hampshire
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 01:42 PM by Blue Congress
First we have PayPal mysteriously halting the transaction from www.grannywarrior.com and canceling the Republican recount. Somehow they got a personal check in time and the recount is still on. Still, it should outrage any American to learn that a private corporation tried to halt an election recount. Then to learn that the CEO of Ebay (PayPal's parent) is on Romney's National Finance Team ! And she used to work for Romney!

The Forbes bio notes she once worked at Bain & Co.

Since that failed, the plan now is to stall.

WMUR-TV reports that (SoS) Gardner plans to start the Republican count after the Democratic count is completed.

The count could take weeks.

Stall. Stall. Stall.

Oh gee, we won't have the results until after Super Tuesday, isn't that convenient?

This stalling ought to be a point of major contention for all Ron Paul supporters. For all peace loving Americans really, Kucinich has failed the Dems by accepting a partial recount which is much easier to fix.

1. Kucinich is doing something
Unless you are paying for the recount, why not be grateful for what one candidate is doing and paying for.

3. I didn't write this
I thought it was interesting that they tried to stop the Republican recount.

I do agree that we need a full recount for the Democrats though.

4. Some background on PayPal
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 02:37 PM by liam_laddie
This article from the "the Guardian" is partly about Facebook, but includes information about PayPal's co-founder Paul Thiel. It's useful when considering PayPal's policies, certainly regarding the delayed payment in a political context. He's not a friend of an authentically democratic political system, as I read it; author calls him a neocon activist. The Democratic recount monies probably weren't channeled via PayPal, else they too may have been delayed. Jes' sayin'.

5. and exactly how, pray tell, is the recount in NH being fixed?
I know that the OP didn't write the message, but the question should be asked: exactly how does the fact that the NH recount is a partial recount makes it "easier" to fix?

6. Well, you see it's because, on Thursdays, unless you pay the NH Secretary of State..
> exactly how does the fact that the NH recount is a partial recount makes it "easier" to fix?

Well, you see it's because, on Thursdays after 3:00 pm,
unless you pay the NH Secretary of State in certified dimes
and nickles, you have to have enough votes to add up to a
Royal Fizzbin, otherwise your votes all turn into a shronk...

P.S.: Yes, of course I'm making that up. But mark my words,
when the explanation is offered, you'll compare mine to theirs
and say "A'yup, that's about what she said!"

7. You need to not assume things first off and take a deep breath
The payment has now been paid for the Republican Vote.

In NH the Dems are only recounting the 2 largest counties, one of which was done today ( results of 2 precincts are still out)

The Dem recount should be over by Friday.

There is no reason to be screaming that the sky is falling because frankly, it is not.

And last but not least you are linking to a site that supports candidates running against Dems in the GEneral Election, which is against the rules of DU.

8. This Is A Pissed Off Paulbot...
Are they also claiming voter fraud? If so...why isn't Paul involved here?

I'm interested in seeing the results tomorrow...hopefully we get an answer as to the validity of the votes now and do something about it or stop using this an an excuse for a candidate's poor performance.
