Huckabee Directly Equates Homosexuality With Bestiality and Pedophilia
At some point you'd think Mike Huckabee's views would be seen as so controversial that there's no way he could possibly be a contender for the nomination of one of America's two main political parties.

Especially now. In an interview with Beliefnet.com, a religion Web site, Huck has just clarified his view that the Constitution should be amended to be brought in line with God's will -- and he directly equated homosexuality with bestiality.

Huck, in elaborating on his views that the Constitution should be subjected to Biblical standards, had just wrapped up a discussion of the fact that marriage has meant "a man and a woman in a relationship for life." With this context firmly established, this exchange followed:

QUESTIONER: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.

HUCKABEE: Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic.

That's pretty clear cut. Changing the definition of marriage so it can mean "two men" or "two women" is equivalent to changing it to mean "a man and an animal." No ambiguity here whatsoever.

1. He's just the head of the Hydra
What about all of those religious fanatics who support him? They're just as if not more dangerous then he is, because they agree with this concept of pissing on the US Constitution.

In my opinion, to change the Constitution so that it represents "God's" word, just makes those people potential traitors who do not believe in freedom, tolerance, or equality for all Americans.

In short, people that I would consider to be my enemies.

2. Where have we heard this before?
Oh, yeah:

In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be.
Rick Santorum

Except that Huckabee left out the part about "not picking on homosexuality."

What IS it with Republicans and their obsession with bestiality?

15. Huckabee has actually said this many times
I've also heard a well, you know, a specific group of Southern preachers say this as well. I think, like, all of them. I think Santorum is better known for equating homosexuals with murderers. What is it with Republicans obsession with homosexuality? Same as some Democrats. They know some people are so fragile that their mere existence makes them compelled to declare they are not homosexuals (or dog humpers for that matter) Despite the fact that that is often not true, it's a thing losers do all the time. They're losers. It's that simple.

4. Then divorce should be a stoning offense
I'm not real up on Biblical law so I don't know the God-recommended punishment for divorce. But Huckster's view is clear: those who stray from a union of a man and woman for life are radically changing the definition and disobeying God's will. Rudy Guiliani, I'm talkin to you...

Some Dems are scared of a Huckster nomination. Not me. I would love, love to see the revelations hit the fan. There's a bad, mean man hidden under that folksy bullshit. I want to see him crack under the stress and watch his demons fly out.

8. It is both a terrible thing for him to say, and a stupid argument
since the definition of marriage has changed over and over again. In fact, at one time, people COULD and DID marry children (14-year-olds, 13-year-olds) but they can't now. There are still probably places where people marry girls as soon as they've hit puberty.

And it is ridiculous to think that there would ever be groups lobbying for the right to marry animals.

He's just trying to reach other bigots and use the language they like. He knows there will never be a movement to legalize marrying animals.
