Coleen Rowley: Blue Lights fading of SUPERAMERICA

Look carefully at this photo we snapped in Eagan, Minnesota last week across from Cheney-affiliated Lockheed Martin Corp, the largest military weapons contractor in the country. We call our weekly efforts the "Lockheed: We Do NOT Concede" peace vigil.

It was just serendipity but look how well the photo visually captures President Eisenhower's warning about the growing power of the Military Industrial Complex. While engaged in a raging war for oil, with gas prices going up, and nearly treasonous war profits going to Lockheed (and other war contractors), notice how the lights of SUPERAMERICA are fading in the background.

I don't know if Andy Warhol could have come up with better symbolism! We're considering turning this photo into our group's new peace postcard but it's awfully dark. What d'ya think?
