Edwards: "the mainstream media has been telling America ...they only have two choices in this race"

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/01/edwards-blames.html

In a final plea to voters before the Nevada caucuses, democratic contender John Edwards criticized the media for its coverage of his campaign.

"I think that the mainstream media has been telling America for over a year now that they only have two choices in this race," said Edwards during a rally in Las Vegas on Friday afternoon.

"This is the problem with the media telling people what they're supposed to do and who they're supposed to consider."

...

"Sooner or later I have to get more delegates," Edwards admitted. "I honestly think it's dependent on when I get heard in a relatively fair way. Because if I get heard, it will work. I absolutely believe, based on all the data, that people will be for me if they hear from me in a way that’s even remotely even with the other two candidates."

1. The American people simply cannot afford to have the corporate

media tell us who our choices are again.

They have no obligation to be fair, accurate, or even honest. Think about it, people. The media is going to report what's in their best interests, and they've been pretty happy with the last 7 years. So, if you want more of the same, do what they say and only consider the choices they tell you to consider.

But if you really want change in America, go with your gut and your heart and figure out why one candidate is being ignored. Follow the money, check to see who owns the media, find out where their income comes from.

The answer will scare the crap out of you.

Do not let these corporations choose our next President! (Again.)

They do have an obligation to be fair, honest and without bias, unfortunately that does not happen anymore. They know where best interests are, and it is not keeping the public informed accurately or honestly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalism
Journalism is the discipline of gathering, writing and reporting news, and broadly it includes the process of editing and presenting the news articles. Journalism applies to various media, but is not limited to newspapers, magazines, radio, and television.

While under pressure to be the first to publish its stories, each news media organization adheres to its own standards of accuracy, quality, and style — usually editing and proofreading its reports prior to publication. Many news organizations claim proud traditions of holding government officials and institutions accountable to the public, while media critics have raised questions on the accountability of the press.

2. I absolutely agree.
Hell, I think Kucinich would at least be in double digits with fair media coverage. Not to disparage Hillary or Barack, but they pretty much have been getting all the attention for the last 6 months.

6. I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do in November.
Probably write in Gore.

Oh, I seriously have doubts that either Clinton or Obama will be ignored should they win the nomination.

Bash our own? Hey BeFree, How is that bashing? Oh, and the big 3 aren't mine so even if it were, I wouldn't be bashing my own.

10. Indeed. And why didn't you object back when they were saying that there were only three?
You really mean that you didn't KNOW they'd go after you whent they'd gotten rid of Gravel and Kucinich? Remember that next time.
