What possesses Freepers? (punctuation)
I know that the whole possessive thang is an oft-made mistake on the "internets" but those folks seem extra-random with it. Not too often you see the rule applied different ways in the same (SHORT) sentence! I do however agree with the meaning of it:

There will be no more Reagan’s, Hunters, Thompsons or Tancredo’s.

From the Freepers mouth to God's ears! Or: Gods ear's, for lurking Freeps!

.

I don't know how many times I've seen "The Clinton's are doing blah, blah!"

Hey, wait a minute....

14. That's not funnier
that's just stupid. There's a huge difference between funny and being an idiot.

4. True.....DU isn't much better..
There seems to be much confusion about how to use: there/their, no/know, to/too etc.

11. Sorry to break it to you.
Freeps have not cornered the market in bad punctuation, mangled grammar, or misspelling. There's a fair amount of that here, too.

16. misuse the apostrophe- go to jail. it is the law.
After writing academic papers, I seldom use contractions in writing.

Save the apostrophe for possessives!

It really gets to me on signs. Ack. "Open on Monday's" ...who the heck is Monday, and what is open?
