Who is actively volunteering for a candidate?
I'd like to compare my experiences to yours. My volunteer days are over for awhile, but I'll be volunteering for whoever gets the Dem. nomination and I might do down to MA for a few days to help out there. Anybody else anywhere?

2. I am - for the first time
And I'm throughly enjoying learning about how campaigns are run and networking with local dems. Hillary's support in Georgia is fantastic, and the folks hired to run the campaign here are amazing. I've learned so much in such a short time, and I'm getting to know some great people along the way. It's a nice feeling to have even a small part of such an important cause - which is, at the end of the day, changing our country's direction.

6. Congratulations!
I volunteered for Obama in NH, and I thought the campaign process was so amazing. It really is one voter at a time. If you get enough people on the phones every day and enough people canvassing every day, those votes start to add up. (Even though you can get hung up on or yelled at on the phone.) I worked almost exclusively with young, college-age people and I really enjoyed that. The energy was tremendous. I really miss those kids.
And, it taught me to NEVER give up! Have fun and again, congratulations for getting involved in the process!

3. I'm not sure yet about the Presidential race but I am going to
work to unseat Sununu. I'm thinking that we need more dems in the House and the Senate, especially if the worst happens and we get a Repub president.

4. Ditto.
Or at least to the point of who wins the nomination. I haven't even given to any candidates yet. I'm going to let them fight it out. ;)

5. Not volunteering....
yet since I live in Texas and in an area dominated by Republicans (sorry for the courtesy). Do favor John Edwards at this point and so do many of the Democrats I have been able to meet but still have reservations about the whole partisan thing being a choice between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. I want to work for real change once before I die.

13. I know what you mean, GTurck.
I'm 55 and I had never volunteered for a presidential candidate before. I (personally) think that Obama is an agent for change, so I decided that this was the time to "walk my talk". Who knows who will still be here in another four years , or what kind of candidates we'll have? Better late than never, right?

10. I am a PDA coordinator
so I am organizing PDA chapters but there is one congressional candidate I will be helping a lot because he has no primary opponent. There are two in another district so I will help after the primary. None are in my own district- but its amazing how much you can do by calling and using the internet and just going there on weekends.

11. Any amount of time we can give is really important.
I know what you mean by saying "it's amazing how much you can do by calling and using the internet and just going there on weekends." Even giving an hour or so a week after work, one night of the week, is a big help. (Some campaigns might want us to commit to more than that, but they'll take any amount of help you can give them.)

12. Its true.
I have the kind of job where I am attached to a computer day and night and I will be working from home or visiting customer sites. So when I am on my own I am free to roam the internet- and that means I can keep up on a lot of stuff for my candidate and post things- and communication is really central to a campaign.

14. I had a call from the Edwards campaign office in Chapel Hill (where I live)
asking me to volunteer. I told them, that if John's still in it after Super Tuesday, I will come out to help.

Hubby is having hip replacement surgery next week, so I can't do anything for the next couple of weeks.
