I am a Nevada resident who participated in my first caucus over the weekend. Hillary and Obama were viable candidates who each earned their share of delegates. To be viable, Edwards needed 22 people (out of 144) to stand up for him. Including Deb, there were 20 people who stood for Edwards. Not enough. The who stood undecided and for Kucinich could not be convinced to change their alignment, so Edwards earned no delegates. The point here is a simple one. There had to be people out there in our district who support Edwards, but they didn't get involved. If only two of them showed up to be counted Edwards would have had at least one delegate. In this instance, a single vote (actually two) would have made a big difference.
I realize that (thankfully) I'm preaching to the choir out here. I just wanted to share my sadness that more people don't get involved.
