Paging the Professor and the LBN stockmarket peeps
Will tomorrow on Wall Street be "hang on to your panties" time for real? How bad will this be in comparison to '87?

Consider this a "Recession/Depression for Dummies" thread. :scared:

1. I don't think anyone really knows.
But you can get some pretty good educated estimates from some of the economic gurus here on DU.

I'll be back to see what they have to say.

2. I occasionally return to thinking about how * wanted to compel workers
to contribute their Social Security payments to Wall Street. No wonder they were pushing so hard so fast for this: they KNEW about the bursting real estate bubble and the subprime tsunami.

8. Knew about it?
They directed it. blivet** fell all over himself talking about his success in getting homeownership to heights never seen before (especially in the minority categories) during the 2004 election. He DROVE this to happen. He and his brother should never have anything to do with anyone else's money ... EVER!

5. There's absolutely no way to tell
the market is being driven by near-panic forces right now. If somebody temporarily calms fears, it could be a quiet day. Like any mob, one wrong word and the whole thing could come crashing down.

7. You think Bernanke deliberately fanned fears?
Zuckerman (US News) seems to be doing that.
