Bush legacy: disaster and financial ruin. A winning ticket?
Ironically Bush ran against a record of Peace and Prosperity and (supposedly) won. He has presided over stunning domestic disasters, ruinous and unnecessary wars, and it appears not one but two huge recessions bookending his regime.

We will watch as this record is skillfully placed onto the Democrats by the Bullshit Media System. We will watch as the Republican candidate, no matter which dumb twisted phony nutjob of theirs gets the nomination, is skillfully placed as the anti-Washington outsider by the same Bullshit Media System. Our candidate, not wanting to provide a target for the Bullshit Media System, will be convinced to not draw sharp distinctions in policy and programs from the status quo, will follow the pattern of Kerry and Gore and other recent Democratic candidates, of plowing down a manufactured issue of the day themed policy campaign that bores everyone to tears while getting kicked in the balls on a regular basis by bullshit attacks magnified by the coordinated echo chamber and rovian smear machine. Our side will again appear to be befuddled and unsure, reactive and defensive, and as always obsequious to Bullshit Media Political Operatives who will cut their balls (or equivalent) off on air while smiling at them.

It is entirely possible that instead of a well deserved Hooverian demise surrendering Congress and the executive to solid Democratic majorities, 2008 will be a close race with a marginal victory by either side.

I am so not looking forward to the centrist campaigns of Obama or Clinton.

The GOP should be strung up and road out of town on a rail post.

4. Isn't it frustrating? On one hand, you have somebody vocally against the Iraq mess, but not
for universal healthcare coverage. On the other hand, you have the opposite. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a candidate who was against Iraq AND wanted the poor to have health care no matter what? They are truly both decent people, but I wish we had some more agressive policy stances to fight for.
