As an aside: He had Michael Nutter, the new Mayor of Philly on - Tweety was kissing his ass but good, since Tweety's a (faux) Philadelphian. Nutter is extraordinarily gifted as a politician - I've had dinner with him once and met him on several occasions - and just took over the show during his segment. Tweety was trying futilely to get in a word, but Nutter was allowed to complete his sentences! A real first for Hardball.

Speaking of names that can be a hindrance: he got elected with NUTTER? He must be something else.

..and as for Nutter...a first-class intellect as a politician. We are anxiously awaiting his administration which has just begun...I know him personally and he is, I believe, the real thing.

it's probably too late to bother with this, but since the Carter years, it sure is obvious, though few seem to note it. Tweety hates the people, and the peoples' power to elect politicians like Clinton over boss hogg. Read 'up from conservativism' or 'blinded by the right' or 'the hunting of the president' or 'stupid white men...' or 'lying liars...' and so on...what these books, and all similar, do is indicate the fact that what the rightwing reactionaries hate is the public interest, and the people who's interest included in 'the public interest', or what Thom Hartman calls 'the commons'. Tweety laffs and chuckles around the Clintons, or indeed any Clinton loyalist- because he really doeesn't give a shit about them, it's just 'bizness' he'll say, nudge wink, but he hates you, me and the rest of the people who, if anyone remembers, are who make the Carters, the Kennedys, the Clintons (not to mention the Gores/Kerry's and Kucinich/Edwards etc) more popular in actual numbers then the boors championed by the rightwing. There's no mystery to this, yet no one ever just tells tweety, or carlson, or foxnews, cnn or blitzer/russert ad nazism that WE KNOW they hate us, and...well, we'll see

for the sake of his network's credibility, as low as it already is. Of course MSNBC has a right to put anyone on that they want. But Matthews' obsession with disparaging the Clintons is close to pathological. I want to see objective and intelligent coverage, based on the issues and not empty incantations, magical spells, and the evil eye that Tweety systematically puts out against one particular person who, for some reasons unknown, he has cursed for all eternity.
