Do you think we'll see the Plunge Protection Team tomorrow (Tuesday)?
With all the markets falling around the world, the PPT has had a whole day to get ready. Do you think they'll show up Tuesday, and if so, do you think they'll wait to see what happens first, or will they nip it in the bud before it starts?

2. I'm curious about that, too.
They had a day off to deal with it, but in the end I'm thinking there's only so much they can do. It will be interesting.

9. Yes, it's been pretty much proven, and they've admited to doing it.

They don't actually call it "The Plunge Protection Team." They call it something else. At first they denied it, and then a few years ago they got caught red-handed and owned up to it.

There was a huge thread here on DU awhile back, which left no reasonable doubt that they exist. I lost my donor status, so it's hard for me to search for it, but I'll try tomorrow (I'm going to bed soon).

11. You can search DU via google or other search engines.
The site command allows you to search within a given website, and on google it works very well for DU.

There ain't no way to psyche this genie back into the bottle with strategic injections. They could throw in ten trillion and it would be like an admission that the game is over. The whole world knows what's going to happen on Wall Street tomorrow.

12. Yep. We could have a pool betting on WHEN, but WHETHER is hardly a bet.
If the red flows as copiously as I suspect, they'll show up around 1130am... just before lunch. It'll appear as though a 'floor' has been reached if they're at all effective ... but I doubt that'll work. The afternoon should be purly awful ... and the circuit breakers will probably be triggered.

16. I predict two or three thrusts...
I'll bet they let the markets fall to about -400 or so, then they'll pull it up to -200.

Let it drop to -300...pull up to -200...

End of day: -200

20. The real test comes later in the day. (The PPT can't stop a stampede)...
The whole game is to keep investors second-guessing and to prevent a real panic.

If the volume is too high, the PPT can't stop the deluge.
