almost unbelievably, CNBC has
a ticker countdown to the opening bell in HUNDREDTHS OF A SECOND.

what do they think this is, a countdown to a debate?

14. In a movie, it would stop at 0:07. But this isn't a movie. (NT)

2. It seems to have their attention, doesn't it?
In ways that illegal wiretaps, illegal records destruction, illegal torture, and illegal wars don't quite capture their tiny little imaginations, the prospect of watching a significant portion of their paper wealth disappear in the next hour or so seems to have their undivided attention.

9. no question...
but the 'time bomb' component is not gonna help you one iota.

Safest way to double your money is to fold it and put it in your product. I'm about to see my 'retirement' take a gigantic hit. the joke we have in the dental profession is that our 'retirement bridge' is 36 hours in the funeral home, and then into the ground.

7. I watched the talking heads on CNBC today,
They were desperately trying to pump up the markets with all the hot air they could muster. But the sad fact of the matter is that the markets haven't been on a sound footing for years now, and all the hot air in the world won't push it back up.

11. I've been shaking my head for nine years now
Despite all the bad economic news, despite the crash of the tech sector and what have you, the market has kept inflating and inflating, to the point where the markets are nothing but bubble markets. We're seeing economic reality finally puncturing that bubble, and it's going to be ugly. I wouldn't be surprised at a three thousand point drop before it is all said and done, the markets are over valued that badly.

12. I'm in the habit of whistling "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" when I watch CNBC,
Everything is going great guns economically. We are NOT headed for a recession. The U.S. economy is HEALTHY. The world economy is marvelous because China's doing well, with all its Wal-Mart merchandise flowing from its ports. It's like if they say it long enough, it will become true. CNBC at times is like an alternate universe.

However, I'm watching them now and a lot of 'em are having a very tough time putting a happy face on what is about to happen. Hell, if Erin Burnett looks scared, you know something has to be wrong!

I, personally, think the Fed blew it this morning. Cutting interest rates is not a long-term solution to this -- might as well go to the printing press and crank out more money. Same result -- devalutation of an already devalued dollar.

her full-time hairdresser went on maternity leave the same week that the saks Counter ran out of her mascara.

Wotta bunch!

15. CNN is showing the actual board
and I don't think I've ever heard talking heads talk so fast and furiously - trying to calm the sheep.
