1. Word is that call center businesses are returning to the US
due to language issues creating poor customer service. Got this info from my boss who has been in the call center business for 10 years.

The NY Times has been reporting about the amount of foreign held dollars flooding into the US to snap up suddenly cheap US assets. That's actually a good thing and the only way to offset our trade and fiscal deficits.

I'm old enough to remember this scenario having happened before, back in the early 90s. As a Wall Streeter, I remember when suddenly we were all working for Japanese investors.

The Japanese came in, bought up everthing and put Americans back to work. This time it will be Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Saudis. Suck it up, learn the foreign language of your new boss, and get ready to work for competent managers from overseas for a decade or so.

It's not the end of the world. The rest of the world has gone through this, as have we, and now we have to do it again, thanks to the massive incompetence of Bush and our corporate rulers.
