Why do Rush, Glen Beck et al hate McCain so much?
I don't like him either but mainly because he abandoned his integrity- they have always hated him. I don't get it- he agrees with them about almost everything

1. not immigration
besides, those bastards remember that they attacked him when he ran against W in 2000. To support him now would be to admit that they were either dishonest or made a mistake.

2. Chickenhawk republicons are embarassed by honorable US Vetrans
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 11:37 PM by SpiralHawk
That's a fact. The Chickenhawks like Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity and the other republicon propagandist chickenhawks, are shamed by the very existence of veterans...

4. He's a loose cannon.
and thus less likely to follow the party line. The Man was kept in a tiger cage! Too a greater extent than most GOP drones , he thinks for himself. They want another attractive meat puppet(MITT CAN YOU HEAR ME?)they can make say or do anything. Not someone, Heaven forbid, who has his OWN ideas( HOWEVER MISLED) about how things should be done!
IMO.

19. it's interesting
that a man subjected to 5 years of torture is more sane than the current pres. How tf does that happen...

I'm voting for the puppet answer...the right-wing pres is always a figurehead whose strings are pulled by people behind the scenes, and McCain doesn't look like a good candidate for that.

6. Psst- they don't really hate him
McCain has a very carefully crafted "maverick" image, one that can only be perpetuated if he is seen as being outside the republican establishment. McCain and Guilliani are probably the favorites of the Wall Street repubs who control the party machine.

14. I don't know why, but I'm convinced that McCain will not get their
nomination. That pretty much leaves Romney who seems to be acceptable to the country club caucuses.

17. Yes, I'm definitely feeling its' RAPIDLY defaulting to Romney now.
Even though no one ever seems to speak of it, McCain's age and apparent infirmity/decrepitude definitely hampers his electability vs. any Democratic candidate also, it's the "elephant in the room" that no one dares speak of, apparently.

and all this talk about cutting "pork" projects scares the shit out of the repubs, since most pork is essentially corporate welfare.

i.e.--Dems--on some bills. Because he's not a holy roller idiot. I mean I'm not about to vote for the man or anything but I think he doesn't kiss the asses of the extreme right-wing so therefore, they are out to destroy him and put some crazy asshole like Huckabee in there.
