Sibel Edmonds. . .

Can someone explain the Sibel Edmonds case to me in 50 words or less? Every time I start to read about it, I see something wacky that makes me think it's tinfoil nonsense. But a lot of people take it seriously, so perhaps I'm wrong.

Can someone give me the basics? Kind of a "Sibel Edmonds for Dummies"?

From what I can piece together from what I have read.....

She Knows Stuff. She was a translator. She turned whistle blower. She translated phone calls involving high up US folk selling NuKe Tech to people in Turkey (who are big black market Nuke traders it would seem)

She gave testimony in private in Congress. After that, everything on record was classified. (even though it had already been put into the record). She has gag orders up the kazoo.

She offered to tell her story to MSM in the US, they passed. She has recently told it in (I think) the UK. She is finally gaining global recognition, and those of us who have known about this for years are waiting for our MSM to finally pick up the story.

One of the allegations involves Denny Hastert. (maybe why he decided not to run again, hrrmmm??)

It is a fascinating tale, what little we know about it. I worry for her, she has endangered herself by trying to get the story out (even with the gag order).

Most of the info I'm relating here has come from a journalist at Raw Story (Larissa ..... er, I'm blanking on her last name, Alexan.... something. ... but I admire her greatly as a journalist), and then there have been the recent storys in the Guardian UK.

Of interest is the recently revealed bit involves the Brass Plate Company (i.e. Cover Company) called Brewster Jennings, an international energy company. This cover company had been in operation for something like 20 years, it was a clandestine CIA operation, which was tasked with gathering intelligence about nuclear technology proliferation... in the middle east.

Brewster Jennings might sound familiar .. if you have followed the Valarie Plame story. Bob Novak outed not only Valerie Plame, but the next day he outed Brewster Jennings as the company where CIA operative Valerie Plame worked at. (this is important... you might want to read that last sentence twice)

So.... to tie this all back together, what I am gathering from recent reports is that one of the things that Sibel Edmonds translated was a US Representative (or Senator?) who was selling nuclear technology to Turkey black market dealers.. to watch out for Brewster Jennings....

It is all coming together. At least for me. Sorry it was waaaaaay over 50 words. I don't think you can summarize all of this in only 50.

as someone said above, Edmonds worked as a translator and found out a woman married to a military officer was blocking the translations of items from a certain Turkish political group. she told her supervisor, who did nothing. when she went public about what was going on (and much more was going on than what I just typed) John Ashcroft slapped a "states' secrets" gag order on her... she would go to jail if she talked about the situation, even tho she'd been interviewed by abc/60 min. and had spoken with demos in the legislature. Ashcroft retroactively forbade information that was already in the public domain to be mentioned.

The media in the U.S., to their shame, are covering up for criminals... most likely the excuse is that Edmonds came upon a covert op to sell messed up equipment to enemies. But Edmonds said, on this board, that such a scenario had been vetted before she talked to congress.

The U.S. media has been, to their embarrassment, worthless when it comes to real journalism since... I dunno... since Bill Clinton got a blow job? since O.J. killed his ex-wife? They totally rolled over about the lies about going to war.

so what do you see in Edmonds' story that you think is whacky?
