9. Blame FDR for the bombing, it was his plan and idea to begin with.
Truman had been president for barely 3 months and was given the green light by all of FDR's former advisors.

13. Blame the Japanese for the bombing.
Last time I checked, they sneak attacked us and declared war on us.

It would have cost hundreds of thousands of infantry KIA/WIA to attack and seize the home islands. I suppose those lives don't matter in your calculations.

Those poor, peace-loving Japanese, victims of the evil FDR.

14. They sneak attacked a Military Fleet, we bombed civilians
makes me proud. As far as seizing the Home Islands, we could have embargoed the islands, we were at the time negotiating a surrender. But we had a new toy.
