Repubs may have followed Bush one step too far??
They were able to get the taxbreaks and the "stimulus package" they wanted. They followed Bush's lead. The whole idea of the "stimulus" was to generate some temporary economic growth before November's election. They may have shot themselves in the foot? They may actually make matters worse?

As if they didn't have enough problems trying to run for re-election, now they may have to explain away a severe recession between now and the end of the year? It is doubtful that their "package" will help much at all. Their vote today may have lost them several more seats?
