I'm having an anti-Battlecry event...

Well, Ron Luce's crazy fundie Christian group was the inspiration for the forthcoming event, although not the sole focus of it.

Basically, around the same time the big Battlecry event, "Acquire the Fire", comes to a city about an hour away from where I live, I'm going to be holding a concert in support of tolerance and diversity. It will probably be called "Rock Against Hate", unless I can think of something better. Some of my friends who are in bands will be performing, as well as some other musicians, if I can find them. The money raised will probably go to some charity in the general spirit of what we're trying to promote, although I'm not sure where. (Matthew Shepard Foundation, perhaps? Any suggestions?)

The event will take place in October.

Hope it works out well for you. And having been involved with music and musicians for many years, I can tell you that the majority of bands are progressive thinkers. And remember any Blues bands that may be in your area. They may be willing to help out and likely would appreciate the exposure.
