She was using Chimp's weaknesses - petulance, partisanship, and his horrific accent - against him, like in martial arts. I don't know Gov. Sibelius, but I have a feeling that she could do a barn-burner speech if she wanted to. Remember that there's a lot of independents and people on the fence out there. She wanted to impress upon them that Dems can do things differently. We can be calm, nice, bipartisan, and play well with others.

Remember that people criticize the two most visible women Dems - Pelosi and HRC - as being too shrill. She was obviously trying NOT to be shrill.

Yes, her delivery was stiff and dull. Not her best night, certainly.

But --- before ripping on her, note some of her points. And this is the governor of one of the reddest states in the country:

-she criticized the war in Iraq,
-she spoke about the environment and global warming,
-she correctly noted the stimulus package was short-term, and wants something more done,
-by proclaiming a 'new majority', she clearly put Bush outside of the circle. Very deft and actually lethal to the chimp.

I'll mention that she's also pro-choice and fought hard against conceal and carry in Kansas. She's hardly a DINO or a DLC maggot. She got her shots in tonight.
