Progress report please. I've been out of it for a while.

I just awoke from a ten month coma and I'm wondering how our Democratic Congress has fared on some important issues.

1. We're still in Iraq, surging and surging with no progress whatsoever and no end in sight to the loss of life or treasure. Wow - we're up to $2,000 per second in Iraq? Ouch.

2. Let's see. Bush is still ignoring subpoenas and Congress is doing absolutely nothing about it? Hmmm. Well, that's unfortunate.

3. Well, the Justice Department is still the legal hit team of the Republican Party? Darn.

4. Bush is still spying without a warrant? And arresting? Who knows? Congress doesn't! And doesn't care I guess.

5. And what's this? Some of the Democrats look like they might even grant immunity to the telecomm corporations that broke the law? Wow! And I suppose even if they didn't grant immunity, we can laugh the idea of the government actually prosecuting them out of our pretty little heads.

6. I don't seem to find any records of impeachment hearings. Wow, what laws do you have to break to get impeached in this country? Oh yea - adultery. I forgot.

OK, OK I can't take it anymore. Can someone please remind me why I voted for these spineless corrupt assholes?

That's the only reason I can guess.

At least that's what I would figure would be the excuse for the narrow minded ignorance displayed in the OP.
